Combined with the Dyson Sphere star (for which the scientists similarly keep trying to find other explanations and haven't afaik), seems like evidence is piling up.

Now if Madame President will declassify some stuff ....

Two edge-on dust discs that rewrite our understanding of some star evolution doesn't seem to me to be a better and simpler explanation, but mileage and all that.

I am looking forward to reading the full paper. More detail would be nice. At least the abstract agrees with the magazine articles, unlike that so-called Dyson sphere star, when abstract and the full paper were very different from what the magazine articles said.
