Writing friends! Today I received an email accepting my short story for an anthology on the thrilling theme of Accountants! I still haven't quite gotten over the buzz of seeing the word 'Congratulations' in the subject line for the first time ever, I'm not sure I really believe it yet actually.
An awesome bonus is that the anthology is a fundraiser for Tasmanian Devil conservation here in Australia - the publishers have already donated $10,000, and will donate all profits after the initial $10K in sales.
I had two solid goals this year - to finish the book I'd been working on forever, and to get a short story published. I knocked over the first draft of the book in May and this anthology will be published in December, so that's at least one and a half ticks, right?
Now, to celebrate! *dances with cats while last night's leftover pasta reheats*
