Another one today.

http://talkingbook.pub/

They sent me an unsolicited email.

I think they got a list of authors, titles, and contact info and sent out a mass mailing. Otherwise, it likely wouldn't have landed in my spam folder. A perusal of the headers shows it was launched from a marketing site.

Their web site doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence. It looks pretty. They do have excerpts of the books they have for sale on the site. But there's very little to convince me I should let them do an audio book with them.

The book they plugged in the subject line is a work-for-hire TV tie-in that I wrote years ago. Not only that, but if the author of the letter really did see my book online, it would have been readily apparent that it was a concordance, and not at all suitable for the audiobook treatment.

I think I'll pass.

(ETA: I didn't find this in a search. Apologies if it's a duplicate thread.)

So these people contacted me again today. Wanted to share a WSJ article on audiobooks. And please schedule a meeting!

I sent a polite, but short note to please remove me from their list. We'll see what happens.
