My wife and daughter watch it, but I take a pass. I'm glad Shondra Rhimes is looking out for Viola Davis, but I think the show is squandering her immense talents as an actress.
But a sista's gotta work.
Wow, the scenes with her mother. POWERFUL, POWERFUL stuff. Blown away by the acting in this episode.
Where have I seen her mother before?
Not sure but she has a pretty long career. Perhaps it was in one of her many various roles.

This coming season (#4) premieres on ABC on September 28. The plots have gotten a bit convoluted, but the acting is still just as good. And the suspense remains the driver.
I just wish I knew what the hell they were doing.
I agree the story is harder to follow now. I have an easier time with Twin Peaks and LOST than I do with all of this. But I love the acting. There have been so many great, emotional scenes, particularly for a show that seems, on the surface, to be a bunch of morally ambiguous characters killing people and covering it up. It's turned out to be so much more than that.
It has inspired me to study law. I am taking an online course, Introduction to American Law, just because I want to know more.
I think they're basically still just trying to avoid getting caught for the murders in season 1.
But the reveal of Wes' murderer seemed random.
I just finished Season 3. It did seem a bit random, but I'm thinking we're going to learn a lot more about Laurel's family next season. I don't know what their deal is, but Laurel has said that her father was not a good man, which was why none of this really rattled her. I don't know what her father does, but for some reason, he forced her to retract her statement about being kidnapped.
One thing I'm wondering is...was Mrs. Mahoney telling the truth when she said that Wes was Charles's son? And if she was...how the hell old is Charles? He doesn't look like he could be more than 10 years older than Wes!
