I know Fox News doesn't exactly have a sparkling reputation hereabouts, but this story caught my eye, and though it's not as big as Fox would have us believe, I thought it makes interesting fodder for discussion.
According to Fox News:
However, I see nothing wrong with Yale being more inclusive in their compulsory curriculum.
Curious how others see this.
According to Fox News:
But in the next paragraph comes a detail that changed my whole perspective on this (emphasis mine):The English faculty at Yale looks prepared to surrender to social justice warriors demanding a rewrite of the storied “Major English Poets” course.
I'm still not happy with some of the claims being alleged (i.e. that Shakespeare or Chaucer "actively harm" anyone). The faculty’s chair appeared to make concessions after calls for the compulsory course be “decolonized” because it features too many white male authors.
However, I see nothing wrong with Yale being more inclusive in their compulsory curriculum.
Curious how others see this.
