Just an update in case anyone else is wondering - according to what I found online, looks like she does and has two separate kinds of contracts.

A literary "change" agent seems like an overstatement of her worth, much like her vaunted credentials.
To take one: her time with Zoetrope. Being a reader (i.e. an intern) for the magazine is usually something
college students do. Her rapid turn-over--and lack of big sales--at several agencies makes it seem inevitable
she'd set up her own agency and shill partnership publishing, with a fee for her first.

So no good sales as a traditional agent? I still don't have a Publishers Marketplace account :S

She had a six-figure deal with a HarperCollins imprint, but that was back in 2012. She hasn't posted anything since 2014 to PM, but that doesn't mean she hasn't made any sales.

Also, Zoetrope is a big-name magazine, and being a reader for them probably means she was paid. Does it mean she had any real editorial input or experience? Probably not.

Even a cursory glance at Zoetrope's website will tell you it's unpaid:

"We require a minimum commitment of at least fifteen hours a week. The internship is unpaid, but we offer a one-year subscription to the magazine and assistance in converting the experience to university credit."

Further, I did not say no sales, but a lack of BIG sales.

Again, looking through Google Books you'll see a LOT of partnership publisher (AKA vanity presses) deals, as well as a few trade publishers:

I don't know if I overlooked this before or it's a new development, but I just saw "A Division of Libra Nova" on her website - seems to be for indie authors, but not that much information available on the Libra Nova site unless you sign in (http://libranova.com/)
