Capitol is reportedly on lock-down after shots fired at a visitors' center.

Police locked down the U.S. Capitol complex on Monday amid reports of shots fired, officials said.
Roads near the visitor center were shut down and nobody was being allowed to enter or exit the buildings, officials said.
"If you are outside, seek cover," the alert said.

What I've heard, but can't find a link, is that a officer was injured, non life threatening injuries.

Someone said it sounded like an entire clip.

Continuing news stories report a female bystander wounded slightly, male custody wounded and in custody (and on way to hospital).

I was just in that neighborhood a few hours ago.

I work just a few blocks from the capitol, but I only have access to the same news you do. Lots of sirens and no word about the White House.

How did you notice? I've recently visited DC, and sirens were ubiquitous, around the clock. I had a hell of a time sleeping.

Update about the event from the WaPo. Sounds as if the alleged gunman was the only one who was actually shot. I was glad to hear the injury suffered by the female bystander was minor and might have been a shrapnel wound. I was on the Metro late yesterday morning with several tourist families heading to the Capitol, and was hoping none of them were in the line of fire.
