I honestly can't think of a better title.
Lately, I've watched and/or finished anime/games that delve deep into mind-related meanings, such as .hack//SIGN, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist, Metal Gear, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and Silent Hill. Hard to explain really, but it's led me to wonder about similar... things in novels.
I've collected a rather short list of themes, or elements, that pertain to what I mean:
How would a writer formulate such complexity in their writing? Having notes much be essential, of course. I imagine the writing should be descriptive (though not dull or boring) and most symbolism be subtle, shown through actions.
The process intrigues me.
I also would like to find similar novels in the vein of the listed works. It could be fun to read, and grant some ideas about how they go about conveying certain things.
Some of it -could- be seen as Magical Realism at times. I have a feeling that genre has similar novels, though I wouldn't know where to start.
I think that's all, for now.
Thanks for reading!
