Ex-Governor Bobby Jindal, he of the fantastically feeble campaign for President, is now reviled by members of both major political parties in Louisiana, for pursuing policies that have driven the state into deep financial crisis mode:

So much for ideological fiscal "conservatism" and its real effects on an economy (Kansas is currently battling a similar problem, for identical reasons). I especially love how he promoted a big state handout to the Duck Dynasty beardos at the same time as his state plummeted into this morass.

It's partly why you hear quite a few Trump supporters mutter under their breath "conservatism is dead."

So, Reagan's trickle-down Reaganomics really is Voodoo Economics, just like Bush senior said. It's just that the American economy was pretty darned strong, so it took this long for following that path to really do damage.
