What dialect is that supposed to be? May I ask about the context?

The Oxford "Classical Greek" grammar and dictionary dialect.

The context is two kids in a steampunk Roman empire trying to recruit some dragons to help fight evil and the dragons are having a lend of them, pretending not to understand their modern language.

When you say 'Classical', are you talking 5th century Athens?
Yeah, sort of. A bit.

Thanks. I think it might end up being a goer.

It's a prequel to a completed work where the two kids do a necromancy ritual to interview the empress Boadicea Vth for a school history assignment and accidentally bring back her entire court plus a zombie sorcerer who's a disinherited scion of their family.

They end up targets of a murder conspiracy between the zombie sorcerer, the owner of the local golem factory, a werewolf with an antisocial personality disorder and the woodwork teacher of their local school.
