Attorney Noel Grefenson says his 69-year-old client couldn't be such a danger if authorities waited to charge him for 22 months. Stewart dismissed that argument and set his next hearing for Friday.

Wasn't the delay in charging him due to the authorities wanting to avoid a bloodbath? (I might have missed something.)

For some reason I read this as "Clive Bundy *Says Hi* From Jail." And then I thought, "Oh Christ, is he starting a blog now?" Monday came late this week.

That article is atrocious, even after having been updated four times.

Damn right he should stay in jail. I can just imagine the militia groups across the country rallying around him if he was freed. He would never show up for trial, and he would never again be seen without his armed bodyguards, so any attempt at arresting him would likely lead to the deaths of several people.

From the article linked in the OP:

Daughter-in-law Briana Bundy said Tuesday that a federal judge in Oregon should let the 69-year-old live at home while he awaits trial.

Yes. On his ranch. With his bodyguards and his guns. I bet he'd like that, wouldn't he?

Fuck Cliven Bundy. His 69-year-old ass can wait for his three hots and a cot in the slammer along with all the other 69-year-old lawbreakers. He's nobody special even if he thinks he is.

No fool like an old fool. :e2tomato:

Why would there even be a consideration of releasing a terrorist?

Old, white male. In the Venn Diagram of Terrorism (US edition), his circle and "terrorist" can never overlap.

More about the indictments for the 2014 standoff.
A federal grand jury indicted Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and four others Wednesday with a raft of felony charges related to a 2014 armed standoff at Bundy’s ranch.

Bundy and his sons — Ammon and Ryan Bundy — as well as Montana resident Ryan Payne and Ohio conservative Internet radio show host Pete Santilli were charged with a total of 16 felonies.

The charges were:

1 count of conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States
1 count of conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer
4 counts of using and carrying a firearm in relation to a crime of violence
2 counts of assault on a federal officer
2 counts of threatening a federal law enforcement officer
3 counts of obstruction of the due administration of justice
2 counts of interference with interstate commerce by extortion
1 count of interstate travel in aid of extortion

The 11 meanest things the Justice Department had to say about outlaw rancher Cliven Bundy

Just some scathing bits from Bundy's detention memo.
