Last Sunday (the 7th) I submitted my query letter to seven agencies. Now, this is my first book and my first time submitting, so I expected I would face some rejection before anyone was interested.

Today, I saw that I had an email from one of the agencies.

Bracing myself for rejection, I open it. And...

It was a request for my full manuscript!!!

So yeah, I'm really excited right now! I'm nervous, too, and although I'm hopeful, I doubt I'm lucky enough to get my manuscript accepted on the first try.

But still, it's something :D

That's the stuff of dreams, right there.

Well done. Fingers crossed that they love the manuscript :)

Congratulations! That's exceptional. Fingers crossed that the manuscript impresses them as much as the query did! :hooray::snoopy:

Well you're a lucky one! Rejection is always hard. What helps me is making rejection so commonplace I pretty much ignore it. I do it by contacting hundreds of outlets. Hope your project is accepted.

For your next trick, try capturing lightning in a bottle!

Best of luck as you go through the next steps.

Ahh this is late, I haven't been on the site in a while. Unfortunately, she sent a rejection on the 4th. A bit vague, too. Oh well. Onward I go!

You should be very happy, despite how it turned out.

At some point in 2016 I'll start doing the same as you and I reckon that first reply will leave me a little more disheartened.

Congratulations!

Despite the bad news, getting a full request is a great sign. Keep up the querying! You're doing great!
