Hello from ancient Egypt (sort of)

After years of Egyptology studies (Diploma in Egyptology, University of Manchester) I finally found time for my other love as well - namely reading novels and writing. And having spent so many years with my nose stuck in academic books and writing Egyptology essays, I wanted to write something more imaginative - and the first story turned out to be fantasy. No dragons, elves, dwarfs etc, just human mythology and - surprise surprise - ancient Egypt! I suppose that was unavoidable, as all my free time for five years was spent in ancient Egypt. I suspect I'll never really get out of there (and why would I even want to, LOL :D)

I tell more about my books / writing in my blog. (The book will be out at the end of January, and at the moment I am having a pre-pub campaign on my blog where I give the book out for free in return for a review)

I think reading is the best pastime and I think there is no better present than a book. I want books, and I want to give books as presents.

And yes - I have books in two rows on my book shelves. And on all the horizontal surfaces in the home (bathroom included). My phone and tablet are full of ebooks too. But in that respect I think I am in good company here.

So hello everyone, glad to meet you!

Leena :)

Welcome to AW, Leena. Your book looks exciting, and a lot of fun. I tried to leave a message on your Blog, but Wordpress doesn't like me (lol).

Your book sounds interesting, Leena! I'm a kemetic pagan, so I guess we both have loving Egypt in common haha Welcome to AW.
