    [Promotion] The Books Machine

Two days ago I got an email from The Books Machine, saying that due to my ebook's plot and quality it qualified for a promotion on their site.

I've faced enough disappointments to be somewhat sceptical of emails like this, and I have yet to break even with my books so I'm hesitant to spend more money on them.

Does anyone have any experience with this site? Was that email actually genuine, or just a stock one they mass-mail to authors?

This site? ? They want you to pay them, and give away up to 5 books a month, as 'gifts' to random readers who may (or may not) leave reviews. I know nothing about them, but I don't see much value in it.

It's reasonable to assume that if someone says you're wonderful, then follows it up with wanting you to pay them, it's a mass email. They're trying to make it sound like it's a special favour to let you pay them.

I've been getting this email probably twice a month since January. The name of the person supposedly changes, but the body of the email is copied exactly every time.
