Daily Word Count Thread - NaNo 2015

Ended my day with 1719. I would have written more but we had a 4.1 earthquake at 11:30, so I wasted the last half hour of the night informing everyone I knew (and people I didn't) of my first earthquake.

1st: 547 words. I had zombie brain, but I pushed out a start.
2nd (yes, my day is over already): 1749. So improvement!

Tomorrow should be a large word count day. I'm in the flow now. I think I've got chapter one finished. It's a mess, of course, but my first drafts always are

Total: 2249

4007. Not the best 4k I've ever put up, but at least there's a start to a novel.

Yesterday was 2149. Not great ... not horrible.

Nov 1 - 1050

I'm not aiming at the 50.000, just at getting any creative writing done.

Ended my day with 2670

1669 Just over the daily word count for the win!

1,905. Not a bad start for me.

Nov 1st: 4,321 Not my best day, but football was distracting.

Calling it quits early with a meh-tastic 2115 (4 thousand something something total). Because this migraine needs to be slept off.

You did better, migraine-wise, than I did. I had a stressful day and a migraine, and only managed 764 words. I'll have to pick up the pace!

I'm at around 8000 words and my YA protagonist has already killed about half a dozen people. I regret nothing. The body count should be high in the last book of a trilogy.

I don't know why I do this to myself. I'm getting tired already. So many words.

I just had this exact same thought like 40 minutes ago. We're just in the first few days, though, so things are bound to be a little difficult to start. Just tough it out and just as you hit a low point here, you'll eventually hit a high point and the words will spill out faster than you can type them.


I'm ending my day at 2889; I can only write in the mornings until about 11 or so before I have to take care of the house (laundry, cooking, etc). Very impressed with the people already in the 5000+ range! Hopefully if I hang around you guys I'll siphon off some of your creative drive

Major props to everyone knocking the word count out of the park so far!

Day 1: 1015 words.
So far, I'm up to 2331. I'm doing work on a WIP, so I'm fixing up the previous scenes, adding scenes, making things flow better, so word count's not going amazing just yet. Hopefully it'll get easier once I get to the new stuff.

1510 brings my total to 4813. I could have continued today (I mean I had the mojo) but a friend has popped round and I want to see her and I always think stopping before the juice dries up is a good thing anyway.

I hit about 1600 yesterday despite the football mayhem that occurred in my living room. (I don't think my husband and his friends have figured out that yelling at the television does nothing to motivate their teams. Oh and my 3 year old is now walking around dropping the f-bomb and laughing thanks to all that.)

Already have 1700 in today and still hours to go.

I got 1373 in today. Did better yesterday with 1805, but I knew the weekday writing would be hard to squeeze in.

I'm doing this too, and I can't decide if I want to try to fix everything as I go, or just bang all the new stuff out and then go back and fix it up later.

5565 words today.

I hope they aren't all crap.

1,470 today, bringing my total up to 3,375.

This thread makes me feel like an underachiever!

1,730 yesterday, 805 today. Bringing me to 2,535. The 805 made my brain hurt.
