writer's handbook - publisher list resources, help?

I've been systematically approaching publishers and I found 12 good ones in my writer's handbook 2010 (five year old book, but I couldn't afford a new one.)
Turns out I was lucky that I was clever enough to go to each publisher's website to double check their address, submission guidelines and email or snail mail policy,
Before I printed off my excerpts, synopses, etc.
But now I have two that I have emailed and only four to submit to by snail mail.
Advice?
Does anybody know of any affordable up to date lists/resources?
I might have a look for the writer's handbook 2015 if they did one this year.

Could someone please move this thread?

Have you looked at Query Tracker? It's a website with information and links for both agents and publishing companies. It's free, although you can upgrade to a premium membership which gives you access to more data. When I was querying for agents I found the site invaluable.

I'm assuming you write fantasy, since I see "The Winter Dragon" by your name. That's good, because there are a lot of resources on the web for fantasy authors.

Duotrope is also for authors of fantasy and sci-fi, but they charge a fee: https://duotrope.com/

Preditors and Editors is a well-used site for all genres: http://pred-ed.com/peba.ht
