I recently received an (paper+envelope real) letter from a new editor who replaces the old editor who was in charge of my book. The previous woman has moved on and been replaced. Now the book itself has three authors (I am the third but was the one who wrote the proposal document) and is not due to be delivered until Dec 2007. My previous contact with the editor involved nothing more than receiving and returning the contract. But should I get in touch with the new person out of courtesy and if so do you think an email would be sufficient? I don't anticipate talking to her much for a year or so.
