There's a very nice search engine at the Submission Grinder that's a good place to start to look for markets. Once you've narrowed down some choices be sure to do a little research to make sure they're good -- our own Bewares, Recommendations, and Background Checks room is a great resource, as well as Preditors & Editors and Writer Beware.

Submission Grinder only gave 3 results for paying publishers of novels... and I KNOW that isn't true. Any other ideas, anyone?
Google. Then look up the publishers you find on this forum to check out what experiences other authors here have had with them, as zanzjan said.

I don't know if you saw my thread in the main SFF board but Angry Robot are having another open submission period in December. They signed my debut urban fantasy in the last open call.
