Here's the challenge:

1) Fifty pages at 250 words per page= 12,500 words (on the "honor system").

2) From now until next Sunday evening, March 22, at 11:59 p.m. your time.

3) It can be anything- Progress on a novel, stories, articles, etcetera, or a combination. And, counting rough draft, finished copy, or a combination.

4) Check in here every night, at a minimum.

5) Winners get listed on this thread.

Who wants to play?

P.S. Or if you want to sign up for a different number of pages, that's okay too!

My dog house.
I'm in, but with a caveat: I'm in the planning stage, and during so I write a long summary of the story. So I'll be working on that to hammer out what I will write, then start on that later on in the week.

1,800 word a day. A good pace for me.

Spring break starts tomorrow. I have an April-June deadline for contests I plan to enter. What do I have to lose?

Except on Wednesday--I have a retirement planning in another city that day. So if i can be excused on Wednesday the 18th I am in. --s6

I'm in. I'm one week and 7K words into a new novel and would love to get more momentum going.

Thanks Fruitbat! This is exactly what I need right now. :)

Here's my first check in:

Sunday, March 15, 2015. 5:34 pm PDT

1023 words, morning free writing
872 words, fiction project
1895 words daily total.
1895 words challenge total.

That free writing is easy enough, but I'm only doing it for one more day. Further words written tonight will go to tomorrow's check in.

I'm in! My current count is just shy of 10000, so I'd like to aim for 25000 by the end of Sunday. Other than procrastination there's no real reason why I can't manage it, so kick my virtual arse if you notice me slacking off :)

Well it's 9.40pm Monday night for me. I started today with 9820 words. I'm going to bed with 12702 words and another chapter down. A good effort for me. I really struggle with re-reading and procrastinating so it's exciting to see some forward movement on the story.

Looking forward to seeing how Monday's treating you all when I wake up in the morning!

I'm a day late, but I know what I wrote yesterday, so - I'm in!

I want to finish my current novel by the end of the week - luckily, it's just supposed to be a short little guy.

As of Sunday morning I was at 28 064 words. By the end of the week I want it finished, which will be somewhere in the 50-60K range.

Sunday - 2031 words. I'd better kick it into gear!

Late to the party, but this is perfect to get my ass in editing gear. I pledge 50 pages edited by March 22nd. I'm on page 42 now, so I should be on pg 92 on Sunday!

I am using paper and pen right now, usually do when I write first drafts. Counting lines and words per sentence I estimate that I am at 1,550 for today and yesterday. This is a contest entry that will have to be under 2,000 words. Right now I am slinging words down in margins and on cards, too--didn't count those because they can be incorporated in the story when I think things out a little more. Then I will have to do some major pruning. --s6
