Out of an abundance of caution, SunOpta Inc’s subsidiary, Sunrise Growers Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of certain frozen organic dark sweet pitted cherry products due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria. This recall includes certain frozen organic dark sweet pitted cherry products distributed from Sunrise Grower’s facility in Edwardsville, Kansas on August 10, 2017. The issue was discovered during routine testing by Sunrise Growers. No illnesses related to the consumption of these products have been reported.

Ninety cases of Great Value Organic Dark Sweet Pitted Cherry products are being recalled. The products are packaged in 32 ounce printed plastic zip top bags and marked with a Best By Date of 08/10/19 on the back of the bag. The UPC code is 078742126166 and the lot code is FED722211 or FED722212.

These Jalebi packets (Code number-P026 and P027) were distributed to the grocery stores located in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee. It might have reached the consumers through retail stores.

These products can be identified by visibly looking at the Jalebi packets packed in clear containers as Almonds are used as a toppings to garnish the Indian sweet, Jalebi.

Garden of Life LLC Issues Recall of Baby Organic Liquid Formula

Today, Garden of Life, LLC, is issuing a voluntary precautionary recall of its new supplement for infants, Baby Organic Liquid, because the product, as labeled, includes directions for use that may be misinterpreted. The company is concerned that if not administered precisely following the labeled instructions, the product may present difficulties in swallowing and potentially pose a choking hazard due to the thickness of the liquid.


Baby Organic Liquid is a liquid supplement packaged in a blue carton that includes a measuring syringe. The label currently instructs parents, “Do not insert syringe directly in mouth. Dispense liquid slowly into the mouth, toward the inner cheek. May be mixed with breast milk or formula.” The company is recalling the product in order to relabel it with new instructions, advising parents to only administer the product by mixing in either breast milk or formula and not to administer directly into the infant’s mouth.

Bel Brands USA, Inc. is issuing a voluntary recall of Merkts Port Wine Cheese Spread sold nationwide with a 9-1-17 production date and a “BEST BEFORE” date of 04-29-18 because a few consumers have reported finding small pieces of plastic in the product.


The recall is limited to the Port Wine flavor with UPC: 76306 60200 and Batch code: LC2442A. While no injury, illness or allergic reaction has been reported at this time, Bel Brands USA, Inc. is issuing this recall as a precautionary measure.
