I'm so pleased and relieved that Wyoming has joined the group of 31 other states that allow and recognize same-sex marriage!
Congratulations!Marriage is just days from opening to gay couples in Wyoming, after a federal judge ordered the nuptials are legal Friday afternoon and defendants in the case, including Gov. Matt Mead, announced they will not appeal. <snip> U.S. District Judge Scott W. Skavdahl of Casper released an order that stuck down the state law that defines marriage as between a man and a woman. “The court understands that every day where same-sex couples are denied their constitutional rights is another day filled with irreparable harm,” Skavdahl wrote. “But it is at least equally important that all same-sex marriages carry the same prominence and finality that attend opposite-sex marriage, including the various obligations and liabilities incumbent within the marital relationship.”
