[YADS] First3Chapters

Caught a blog post from Janet Reid this morning (here) warning of a sketchy operation offering agents access to a database sort of thing of author's first three chapters. It seems the authors submit (for a fee, presumably) to this outfit and agents can cull through it without bothering with their query queue. It's like getting the Quick Lane pass at Disneyland! Wheeee! Um...well...maybe not. Ms. Reid is steamed. It's worth a read and perhaps a Beware here.

Can confirm that my agent's agency is on the list, but she basically just got the same spam e-mail with a password and did not give permission to have her name used.

She also confirms that she doesn't read submissions from anybody but the author.

The agent list is gone now. I emailed the people at this company, and they responded quickly, saying they were removing the list because they didn't want it to be misunderstood.
