Whose skeleton is that - Katarina's? - I thought she committed suicide by taking a walk into the ocean?

And I'm thinking Mr. Kaplan jumped off the bridge because she didn't want to give Red the satisfaction/burden of killing her - And/Or - She felt that since Lizzie "chose" Red, over her, she had nothing else to live for?
