You can use it to put your reader in the right mood, and even kill that mood with a well-placed funny scene, should you wish to be so cruel!

I crack jokes all the time during sex. Is this something that other people don't normally do?
Because I can't imagine a sex scene that wouldn't be funny. Hyper-romantic or full-on porno sex scenes always seem so artificial to me, for exactly that reason.

I usually have my female characters point and laugh when the male genitalia first come into view.
