I just recieved my first rejection EVER (form) and I am SO EXCITED!

It sounds silly, but in order to be rejected you have to put yourself out there, and I'M OUT THERE!! HORRAY!!

Agreed. Yay, Lucy, and good luck! And yay for other Vermonters on AW.

How many queries have you sent?

Vermont FTW!

Just two. This was my reach school, so to speak, but I do love the other agent to bits... I just really needed a little push, so I made myself take the plunge.

There are people who are accepted on their first time out, but as Anne Lamott would say, nobody likes them or thinks they have rich, inner lives.

Onward!

You are amazing. I wish I could be that positive so easily.
I hope for some success to come your way very soon.

How many Vermonters are on here? *asks another Vermonter*

Also, YAY for putting yourself out there!

I know of at least three more, so ... six? ;)

Small state, but lots of writers. Someone in my town started a user-friendly writers' group that quickly gathered hundreds of members, and the workshops always seem to fill up.

Vermont rocks. :) Our local library just had a Vermont author in to discuss publishing. I was bummed I missed it, but yeah, lots of writers.

Haha, I felt exactly like this when I got my first rejection last month. I was so excited when I received it because I at last felt like I was in the pool of writers, instead of just dreaming of being ready enough, with a complete project, to send out there.

I hope you don't take this as a sign that we want more though, universe! Don't get the wrong end of the stick ;)
