Foreign languages in literature can be a tricky beast. There's a fine line between injecting some culture and personality into the work, and confusing or frustrating the reader.
But what about books in which the protagonist has no clue what the people around her are saying? Have you seen it done and done well? Any recommendations, regardless of genre would be appreciated.
