It's been a heck of a morning.

Our company just had its IPO and everyone is scrambling. Also, they gave us donuts.

And orange juice in champagne flutes.

Which is a bummer. We're all adults. You only get one IPO in a company's life. You can't spring for a little bubbly?

I stayed up too late last night watching youtube vids of abandoned houses (don't ask me how I got there from watching vids about horses, I have no idea *g*), but I slept great last night.

Hoping to get more than 100 words written today - and possibly some knitting done too.

You misunderstood. I started off watching horse videos... then somehow got watching abandoned houses... and today I've been watching treasure hunters. *g* As for why I started watching abandoned house videos, well, I find that sort of stuff rather fascinating.

No words or stitches yet, but there's still time.

Ah, my bad. In my defence, it was early and I hadn't yet had coffee.

Speaking of, I have a conference this weekend (all weekend), and I just checked what time registration opens/breakfast session starts. And ... ugh. This is going to be haaaard to drag myself out of bed for. I suspect I'll spend a fair few lectures jotting down words. Or trying to. At least there's free coffee at these things. And notepads/pens (all the better for wordzing with).

Well, we can't be friends now.



There's a trade show attached, and usually a couple of big contact lens companies bring along professional baristas to tempt the crowds to their booths. So, as a coffee drinker, at least I can stay caffeinated. Though usually by the afternoon I'm on to mochas/hot chocs to prevent alien zebras bouncing off the walls. (Entertaining to watch; not great for my sleep).

Sadly, the other gimmicks have decreased the last few years (due to rising costs to the companies involved). There used to be masseuses and giveaways and other stuff to do in between lectures. Not so much these days. *sad face*

Morning all. I'm here to report that I did nothing again yesterday. *g* BUT I have now closed all my youtube tabs and today I AM writing.

BF, 6:30am to 7pm conference... for two days? Just as well they provide lots of coffee! I hope you make it through with your sanity intact!
