Last I heard, the Queen of England drinks The Glenlivet.

Mmmmm, is that meant to be amusing. We care not what other Queens should drink, unless you have brought a case for my pleasure?

Well, I traveled the world wide to the lovely isle of Scotland and toured the factory (after insuring them I was old enough to be there! Should I take that as a compliment? :tongue) and found The Glenlivet is named after a place in Scotland.

It is a single malt whiskey, made in oak barrels that have been charred inside. The angels get the first sip, which seems only fair to me. (Happy angels must make for happier times, yes?) They make it in both European oak and American Oak barrels. I must say the American Oak sounds more "tasty", imparting sweeter vanilla flavors and a creamier mouth-feel. I will take a creamier mouth-feel over a drier mouth-feel of European any day. (Though I must say I am intrigued by the spicy part mentioned with the European oak.)

All in all, I wouldn't drink it because I prefer brandy or rum to whiskey when I imbibe. Which may be once every year or two. ;) But, I would be more than happy to order a case for the castle if you wished it, Your Majesty.

Good evening, Your Majesty, and assorted Royals,

The rains came this morning and washed out my outside plans, so thankfully I spent a day inside my castle in the cool putting some things to right, but mostly taking my ease.

It felt good.
I am glad you were able to take your ease, Sir Brad. We all need that from time to time. :)

I can also tell you that wrestling with the past is always a losing game. The past always wins.
I have wrestled with the past for many a year, Prince Ted. And overcome it. This is something new, something else, some lesson (or healing perhaps?) yet to be unraveled.

I've found that when those moments happen, I have to meditate, and focus on the present. That's a hard habit to get into and sometimes, I totally forget that exercise. Sometimes, the past wins. It sucks. Sometimes, my brain decides to mull over failed romances, lost loves, and painful heartbreaks. Sometimes, it goes to darker places. But, meditation helps. It really does.

There are a ton of guided meditation videos on youtube. There are also plenty of meditation instructions online. There are hundreds of styles of meditation to choose from, too. I wish you luck.
Getting stuck in the past is indeed a dead-end path that will suck the life out of you and I am very glad you have found a way around it. Meditation is a lovely thing and guided meditation life-saving in its healing benefits. I'm glad you have discovered these tools, for they are important ones.

I'm considering using this as a motivator to write a book and rewriting the ending. I'm thinking perhaps that is what my subconscious is demanding--a different ending. I have that power as a wee writer, you know--to change endings. And honestly, this will be an antagonist the reader will love to hate. Of that, I'm sure.

Keywords, Duchess - terms that might come up when someone searches for something from a search engine such as google

Search me, and it's all about me :D

It should well be all about you, Your Majesty. ;)

Thank you. :)

(And thank you for saving me from the revisions I am currently working on by giving me something else to do at the moment beyond beating my head against the keyboard. :greenie)

I'm hating this revision. Just so you know.

ETA: I had the strangest experience tonight. The landlord came over and was talking (to my mind) nonsense. (Being in my story doing revisions I couldn't think on such mundane items as the landlord talking to me.) I couldn't understand what in the world he was talking about until I finally figured out he wanted to leave tools with me for collateral if I would loan him some money. Once I figured out the issue, I asked, "You want to borrow money from me?" And he explained his wife was ill and needed medication and he wouldn't have money until next Friday.

I said, no and he thought I was not going to help him and the poor look on him and slump of his shoulders was heart breaking. But I was saying, "No, I don't have $60 on me." I would have to go to an ATM, but all he heard was no and he thought I wasn't going to help. I clarified and told him I didn't need the collateral. (I figured I know where he lives, right? And whatever would I do with a bunch of tools but have them in my way tripping over them.) Then, I remembered I had cash stashed for fuel for my truck in case a storm came, so I was able to give him the money after all, without going out to an ATM. Well, $59 dollars of it, at least. Which is good, because as scattered as my mind is at the moment, I'm not sure driving is wise.

I hope he doesn't take advantage. I would hate to have to hunt him down and kill him. Then who would take care of his sick wife?

Mmmm, perhaps you should have asked him to bring his rent book? And got him to write a receipt for it? Then you could just paid the difference next rent time, well you still could, couldn't you?

Actually, no I can't. My brother is paying the rent and left me checks predated and already filled out.

But, it will pay 2/3 of the water/sewer/trash bill due on the 1st, so that would work. I'm hoping he just hands me the cash back on Friday, though. That will be the best way.

You took him at his word and it's up to him to follow through. It will tell you much about his character. Your heart is right in the giving, and may the blessing you showed him return to you many times over.

Your concern for his wife is laudable - and you know where he lives. :)

Her Majesty's idea is not without merit, of course such wisdom from the throne can be expected from Her Highness.

Whichever way it works out, I trust you'll do fine.

I have no doubt he intends to repay youu your grace and this tale makes me sad for it is my expierience when faced with the adversity you have described when the time comes it will be difficult if not immposible for him to repay you, Your kind heart does you immense credit your Grace, lend no more than you can part with, may I advise you make it clear it is one time thing if doing so places you adversely

Thank you, Sir Brad. I'm sure I will, too, regardless how it turns out. :)

Thank you, Prince Beanie. I have been in the situation where I didn't have money for medical concerns for a loved one. Whether I can afford to lose it or not, I would not let that be the deciding factor over helping out someone in such need. I'm just glad I had the cash on hand for him in this instance.

Ah, Sir Brad, the wisest man in the court, your presence please me.

I find pleasure, as well, for a thousand years spent passes as a day in your presence.

To be counted wise in the court of wisdom humbles my heart, Your Majesty, for wisdom is a precious treasure when tempered with understanding.
