Anybody writing this weekend?

I probably won't. I have made a vow that I will complete the new curtains for the sidelights this weekend. It's both boring and frustrating. Writing seems easy in comparison.

Excellent. If you get online during the weekend, we expect a report.

I'm writing this weekend. Writing right now, actually. Well, not right now, as I am obviously here, but I'm taking a lunch break. So far it's been fairly unproductive. I managed to delete a few pages work of stuff and have only written a few sentences. But I've got a scene playing out in my head I hope to get written before the end of the day. We shall see how it goes.

I once owned a pair of those original 13-button-fly wool bell bottoms. They were a little short even with the hem dropped all the way, and I sorrowfully donated them. I hope someone short wears them to this day.

Clothing made for soldiers and sailors is incredibly well made.

i wore my father’s Army jacket from Vietnam when I went away to college, so I’d feel closer to him. I wore the hell out of it. And all these years later, it still looks great.

(Though I wouldn’t wear it now, out of respect)

I remember how long it took to unbutton those. If you really had to pee, it was risky to delay.

I have just typed "the end" on a novella. Whew!

A tip of the hat to anybody cranking out words. I don't have to tell anybody here how hard that sometimes is.

We have a sunny morning and our light snow is melting off where the sun gets it. So a third of our driveway that gets no sun ever, not even in summer, is a sheet of ice and the rest completely clear. I wonder if we have any salt?

I bought a refurbished laptop yesterday. I'm hoping I can get more words done if I don't have to spend extra time typing things up on the library computers.

That’s a great idea! I hope it helps, Komnena.

I managed to stumble upon some inspiration last night and, as soon as I have a free moment, am excited to get to work and see if I can’t get these words out. Fingers crossed.

That's great news, Komnena. Removing a layer of the creative process is sure to save you some time. As you probably know, lots of people get rid of computers that are still perfectly good for word processing but lack the capacity for gaming, video editing, or whatever. Do you get online with it? I'm happy to recommend Avast, which is free security software.

Maryn, moving slowly this morning

I'm still working on getting online. I've been too busy trying to catch up with the typing. I now have 5500 typed words.

Did I ever tell you all about the time I met Ann3 P3rry? (Who will not find herself mentioned here if she does vanity searches.) She apparently writes her mss. by hand, but someone else types them into the computer. Must be nice. Also, I did not like her, nothing to do with her writing but entirely based on her apparent attitude toward her readers and fellow authors. I met Lawrence Block, Harlan Coben, and Joan Hess at the same event and they were quite lovely people.

She writes multiple British mystery series, not my thing as a reader.
