A day too late is all I care about. I finished 11/21! Old tortoise for the win over the jackrabbit!
I made the word count goal and validated.... The actual story is only about sixty percent done, but the annual NaNo productivity boost, has again provided motivation for the rest of the year.
My wife has been seriously whomping me this year, she has passed seventy K words already. Soon we will swap novels and each add our share to the stories.
Now I need to get back to the edits I have been ducking, I wish I could be a one pass and perfect writer.

Progress toward being a full time writer notes, we are taking our first big advance and cruising to the Bahamas next Monday. A step at a time, but we are getting somewhere.

NaNo is a great productivity tool for us, from it we get the core of two novels every year.
It is always a lot of fun, this is our fifth year, and each year the product gets better.

I reached 50k on the 18th, according to the official website. I slacked a little after that... and yesterday I have finished the story at 62k, which was my original goal. (not 62k, just reaching THE END. You know that amazing feeling that comes with THE END? Yeah, I wanted that!)

Oh shit I did it!!!!! Whooooo! Had to write 15k in 3 days to catch up but it's DONE *collapses onto keyboard*
Considering I only got 12k in the entire month of November last year, I'd say that I'm pretty damn happy with that result!

I am so happy, y'all!! I just hit a little over 50,000 words and I still have maybe a thousand or so words left to tie up the ending BUT STILL! I've always been so wordy I was scared I wouldn't be able to have a short novel's worth ever in my whole life!

I've done it!
Although the novel isn't finished yet, I'm still pretty happy with myself. It's been a bit of a struggle year, with me getting behind by 17k at one point, and doing a 10k catch-up day which is my new record!

Got in 90K this year for my first NaNo! Woot!
There's A LOT more of the story to write, and I know half of it will be cut, but I'm happy about the number. Sucks I put the challenge off for a decade, but better late and all that.
