Two hours to go for me.

I have a vague idea what I'm doing. Um...I'm writing the sequel to the novel I've been editing on an off for the past year. It's only going to be two books, so this one needs to tie up everything from the first book.

I'm hoping that writing the sequel will make editing the first book easier. I feel like I've hit a brick wall with that book.

Hey, at least I know my characters. :p

Managed to do 900 words in the past hour and a half! That is very quick for me. It's definitely rough, but that's what edits are for over the course of the next year.

Whew. 1910 words in the first two and a half hours of NaNo. Not bad. How's everyone else doing?

Also, how are you guys getting the word counters into your sigs? I tried to, but it only showed up as code.

Just woke up and about to get started! :D

I added mine as a picture, and then added the profile link to the picture. Which is why the count doesn't update. Just ignore me. :e2smack:

PSA: Remember to back up your novels! I've already seen one post from someone who lost their first 2K.

Anyway, I've got 2,016 words. :D

I'm far from finished for the night. :e2BIC:

Only wrote 590, but I need sleep. I'm hoping to write on and off all day tomorrow, although my success is dependent on my kid's mood.

If I was a bad parent, I'd sit him in front of his overflowing candy bucket while I wrote. That's bound to entertain him for at least an hour -- at the expense of my carpet and walls, of course.

Woke at 4am. At keyboard with coffee by 4:20. Cat wrangling until 4:25. Wrote for two hours. Got kids to school. Stopped at Starbucks on way to work. Wrote another 30 minutes. 2719 words (but that counts the title).:)

I couldn't do it! My brain brought having another WIP to a screeching haul last night. The story is there, but my hands refuse to type the words. :( :( It screamed at me, you already have a WIP, your Alundra File needs work, your series needs revision... you can't have another story nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Got to my first goal 1000 words on day one, just to prove to myself that it's going.

Also updated my blog with an intro snippet.

It's 4pm in the UK and I have zero words so far. :D I'll be getting my words tonight. Too old for these all nighters and not a morning person. It's as much as I can do to find the bathroom first thing in the morning, never mind the keyboard and my brain. Next week I'll be bringing in my netbook to work and getting a few hundred words at lunchtime as well as my evening session. But for today, easing in is enough.

I'm only going for the 50k words. I've done the extra high word count thing in the past and I'm all done with that now. 50k is enough for me. Any extra is gravy. I've got nothing left to prove.

I am planning to get a quite high word count in the first half of the month, but only because I might have something I've got to make a priority over the draft coming along later in the month. It will be nice to be finished or almost finished by then.

Word cushions are very comfy!

Woooooo!!

I've been scribbling furiously in my notebook for like a week, but I'm ready now. Current word count: 1200. Ish. Will type more before the night's out.

Got up at 4 this morning, grabbed breaky and a coffee and got to work. Got 4,200 in before I woke the kids up at 7. I'm impressed with myself, though I have this sinking feeling it is not going to last.

After I drop the kids off at their dad's tonight I plan to write, write and write some more until I pick them up on Sunday. :)

Feelin' good so far.

I stayed up from midnight to two am and managed 2,500 words. Got some free time by the morning and wrote more 1,000 words and I barely broke a sweat. Maybe I'll get to finish NaNo this year o/

Way to go, all who have started this month off with a bang! I just wanted to share a blog post, wherein I've listed my "Top 10 NaNoWriMo Opening Lines 2013", via Twitter search. Take a look - some are 100% funny and some are 100% earnest and sound like the start of a good read. Cheers all!

NaNo's widget is a computer image. A PNG file, FWIW. You need to grab the URL for the one you want, then stick it between [ IMG] and [/IMG] tags.

The code is inside an HTML entry under the widgets. For example, the small one in my sig is:

Code:
nanowrimo.org/widget/graph/0siris,wc,pc,days.png

NaNo includes: <img src=http://
in front of that. The image code above includes my NaNo username: 0siris. If you replace that with your NaNo username, stick that between the two IMG tags, and put that in your sig, it should work to give you what I have.
