Hi all,

I am new here, so would like to introduce myself. I've stumbled on this website many times in the past when I was researching agents and publishers, however now that I am getting a lot more involved with writing I thought it would be great to join and learn from you.

I enjoy writing and editing, both of which I'm learning about every day. Apparently, I ramble a lot (not mentioning any names! <snickers>), but oh well - I enjoy writing epic fantasy, and I've been told by readers that I take after George R. R. Martin. Sorry, folks, I love description! However, writing is a journey, and I'm always looking to learn new things.

Looking forward to getting to you know all,

Graeme

Greetings and welcome to the watercooler :welcome:

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Traditional Irish Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.

Pandora, and rwm - thanks for the words of encouragement. I used to beat myself up about loving detail, then I realized there are lots of readers who love detail - long as it's organized and the story flows. That's where the hard work happens, and I've got my share of that, every day (thank goodness for coffee). I learned, long ago, that writing is not just about typing up words. <grin>

I tend to pop in and out. I do about 1-2 hours of promo work, so I'll sneak on here now and then to nose around. I'd love to find some good writing craft discussion threads. Overall, I enjoy forums and discussion groups because it's a great opportunity to learn from other people. So much talent all in one place!

I have also started doing some editing for my publisher, though I am still learning (they called me a junior editor, and the other editors call me "junior", HAHA!). I'd love to explore some of your editing threads too, to learn and maybe ask a question or two.

Cheers!
