His passing has had a definite effect on my motorvation today. I listened to a slew of his songs last night. Still, ninety isn't a bad run. I'd take it.

Me, too. The way things the cookie's crumbling, I may not make it to eighty, much less cash in at a nice, round ninety.

I hear you. Ninety would be a huge upside for me. Eighty might not be so bad as long as we still have scotch and Vernie.

I'd declare a moratorium on death, but I doubt I have nearly enough clout.

How's everyone? I've been busy as a one-armed paper hanger. (I'll be hearing from the disabled paper hanger's union...any minute now.)

No need. I haven't gone anywhere. Just been busy with the real life stuff.

Oh. I have a new grand-daughter. I don't mind my part in this kind of thing...all I have to do is brag.

    Thanks Vernie!

    Congratulations, Syn.

For Kay's birthday a few days earlier, at 2:00 am on Tuesday, March 28, she got a brand new great-granddaughter, Marceline. Bragging rights are wonderful. I'll post a photo soon.

    Yikes!

    You people are proliferating!!!

When I told that rude American guy to... *looks around*... *sees Vernie*... cough... 'go forth and multiply', I didn't mean it literally!

But hey, Congratulations, Chase!!! More little Chases around is always a good thing.

This is really an insult to our great-grandparenting skills. Our plan is to give her whatever she asks for before she cries or makes a scene, thus preventing any kind of spoilage.

    Sure. Whatever you say, Chase.

It's been cloudy for days here. Finally, I see a bit of blue sky peeking through while making my appointed rounds today. And I could almost hear my Grandmother mentioning a Dutchman's breeches.

It occurred to me that I'd never really thought about what or where that saying came from. I mean, just how big an ole' boy is this Dutchman? Is he wearing bell-bottoms or swim trunks? Maybe they tend to be small men?

I gave up and googled it when I got off work. Turns out that it originated from sailors, who wore fairly loose pants. Dutchmen, however, really liked their pants nice and generous...and blue. The original saying was, 'two bits of blue sky big enough to patch a Dutchman's breeches'. (or something like that...depends on who's telling the story)

    It's all relative, I suppose?

I'd never heard that expression before. It's interesting. Thanks for sharing, Syn. I like learning about things like that.

    The question seems to beg of it;
When will Haggis lift his leg on it?

    Hah! More proliferation. Congrats LaVern.

Any time Gail. I have too much time to think while I'm out wandering around--mostly about stupid things. But, every once in a while, they are interesting to someone somewhere.
