I must admit that I'm a novice, and my greatest fear on here is offending everyone by being young and ignorant.
I'm still in school, graduating HS in June and attending college this fall. I've published some poetry online, and it has gotten some positive reviews, but I'm just dipping my toes into writing a full-length prose novel.
I've always loved writing and reading; literature has kept me sane over the years. I have ADD and am hyperlexic (but, thankfully, do not suffer from poor reading comprehension as some of my hyperlexic peers do) and this has rendered me "different" enough to be on the outskirts of normal teenage society.
These conditions I do believe in some ways forced me to grow up faster. I was undiagnosed with anything until I was 17. Also, reading early and often gave me some insight into literature.
I'm on here because I know I don't know anything about actually writing, and I'm hoping that some insider advice can help me turn ideas into realities. I have an idea for a somewhat allegorical novel, a thriller whose protagonists and antagonists mirror aspects of human nature. I know that's vague and meaningless, and I know I'm rambling at this point
