I stumbled upon your forum while searching for a short story that I remember details about but would like to track down and read again (I'm sure you've had a similar frustration at some point). I've been lurking and enjoying some of your exchanges and am afraid the site is now a staple in my regular coffee/browse routine before settling into my work day.
The story I've been searching for if any of you can point me in the right direction was about a family with the dad away at war. His daughter also fought in the war. When she fell asleep, her soul/spirit would wander and fight along side the war with him.
There are several short story archival systems but without knowing the author or title, I'm stumped. I would have read this in a 1994 introductory level English college course if that helps jog anyone's memory.
