Synopsis below:
Since twenty year old Emma was attacked ten years ago, she has suffered from agoraphobia. Living alone in her New York apartment that has more security than she can The White House, she can pretend she is just like every other twenty year old. She shops, she studies, she socialises.
Deep down, Emma knows she is not coping. Between the unrelenting nightmares, her constant fear of the outside world, and the impending release of her attacker, Emma is on the verge of breaking down.
Emma's relationship with her family is strained. She is a constant reminder of the attack to her parents. Only her eccentric grandmother seems to really understand her. Without the support of her, and best friends Tom and Cass, Emma doesn't know how she would cope.
When her professor, Simon Anderson enters her world, Emma sees him as the perfect way to distract herself from her issues, What begins as harmless flirting soon develop into something much deeper than a crush. Simon, who is dealing with issues of his own, is drawn to Emma.
Both Emma and Simon know their relationship is bordering on inappropriate, there are so many reasons why they shouldn't be together, but sometimes you cannot help who you fall in love with.
