Nothin' better than just jumping in, I guess. I am too old to honestly answer any questions about my age - still too young to realize it shouldn't matter. I write humor, dark humor and urban fantasy. I have just recently begun submitting my first UF novel, Asher's Tale. Pitch Black is one of the coolest movies I have ever seen with my faculties intact; I think Christopher Golden and Carrie Vaughn are highly underrated; I find it suspicious that Philip K. Dick and Raymond Carver are both from this area, but were never spotted in a room together; and, I love The Dresden Files. "Dead Beat" and "Small Favor" are tied for top spot with "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" as the books I sleep with on a regular basis.

Some think I have a difficult time coming out of my shell....

Hi there, I'm north of you about 30 miles, a bit south of the river. I'm also too old to talk about, and I just started reading the Dresden Files. I've read the first 2 books.

:welcome: See ya around the forums.

Welcome out of your shell, Korrinblue.

I find it suspicious that Philip K. Dick and Raymond Carver are both from this area, but were never spotted in a room together...

Don't forget the fabulous Ursula LeGuinn also lives in Portland . . . and all the terrific Grimm writers. Lots of talent downriver from here.

Is Portland as cool as Portlandia makes it out to be? Like, are you guys better than Seattle?

Welcome to AW :)

Welcome from another Dresden Files fan. I've only read three so far, but I've found them very enjoyable.

Hey there, welcome! i loved the Dresden Files - have you tried the author's pure fantasy series? It's just as brilliant, minus the sarcastic commentary. Hope you have a great time on the forums.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. A couple things: Dresden rules; Ursula K. LeGuinn is a Goddess here in the river city; most of us don't dare speak of Grimm lest it goes away and Portlandia is the most fun any of us have had with our clothes on. Oh, and, I really don't know what the hell I'm doin' with the semi-colon (but it looks good, though, eh?).

Hello

Portland is my dream city....visited this summer and was so ready to move there! Adore the Pacific Northwest.
