Well this is a tricky one. I'd say one of my favourites is Jude Fawley from Thomas Hardy's 'Jude the Obscure'.
He's such a tragic figure and ultimately a good man but also flawed in his blind pursuit of ideals. I really just want to make him a cup of tea and give him a cuddle. Oh dear.
