Can you help with this odd world-building setup?

Would the light source be too bright coming down the center? Thinking perhaps the sun comes from the outside, while the moon (controlling the seasons), rises up the center.

It really depends on what u want your light source to be. If it is a sun( as in star) then u want it exterior. If it is magical, man made, or divine there could be a million reasons it comes from the center. With something new and original you can have it bath the land in a soft warmth while lighting the landscape or some crap like that. Any number of posibilities could be allowed if your light source is not a traditional star
