Everyone should pet a tiger, even if it's only vicariously; that's why I wrote my first novel.

Hi everyone,

I am a yet undiscovered screenwriter; I've written four screenplays. I was very excited about writing screenplay number five, a young adult film about a teen girl coming of age during a magical summer at an exotic animal ranch, but I was pretty sure, based on my experiences with my other scripts, that very few people would ever read it. Then I thought, why not write this as a novel instead? And so, Wild Animal School became a novel rather than a script.

I'd been researching Wild Animal School my entire life. As a child, I was surrounded by not-so-exotic animals, like dogs, cats, and a guinea pig. When I grew older, I had the privilege of spending time with tigers, lions, leopards, grizzly bears, monkeys, elephants, sea lions, dolphins, and killer whales.

After months of writing, rewriting, and editing, Wild Animal School was completed. Thanks to Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and CreateSpace, Wild Animal School was published (at no cost!!). Unbelievably (to me), it is now available both in paperback and as an ebook to readers all over the world!

I enjoyed writing Wild Animal School so much that I'm now working on my second novel. Once it's ready, I'll let you know all about it!

I look forward to interacting with you on Absolute Write. I've already found a lot of helpful information here; hopefully I can help other people as I continue to grow as a writer.

Jenny,

Welcome! What a great experience!

BTW Orca is a little less intimidating, especially since, for humans, they really aren't killers when they are in the open ocean.

I agree, "orca" may be a better term to use than "killer whale." In fact, killer whales aren't even whales at all; they are dolphins. The beautiful orcas that I worked with were playful and gentle.

Not sure I understand that.
