Don't be so hard on yourself! I'm sure your writing will mature over time, too, but you have to start somewhere... and I doubt it's garbage now. I've been at this a pretty long time, and I can say I have learned one thing that I tend to live and die by:

You cannot edit a blank page!

So g'head and write your drivel... then edit it into the next great American novel

Welcome! I'm sure your writing isn't garbage, but one thing is certainly true: the more you write, the better you get! Don't throw away (or delete) what you write either. I recently found an old notebook that I wrote in when I was a teenager. It was fascinating to "hear" how I thought back then, and I even got some ideas from it.
