Patsy, please forgive the delay in getting back to you. Right now, we aren't looking for Christmas stories, but we are still looking for short stories and essays. Up to 2000 words. Pays $50 on acceptance.

I would love to be able to write reviews for your site, especially since I basically write them for free for my friends all the time. In looking at your site though, I'm not seeing anywhere where it is stated about deadlines and such, as have been mentioned in previous posts. Are your accepting reviews at this time? How about short stories? Do they have to be under 1000 wds, or do you have a category for slightly longer stories as well? Thanks so much!

Yeah they are very encouraging to new writers. They liked my review. I got paid and I am waiting for my review to come.

You will run all reviews aquired? Does that mean you are accepting anything & everything now, provided it meets the 300 words & is good?

If not, do you have an area on your site explaining what you're looking for each month?
    Current WIPs:
Spirits- Scifi/ Urban Fantasy/ Character Drama (23000 wds)
What Lies Within the Mahounin- Classic Fantasy/ horror/ Character Drama (n/a)

    Backburners:
    Paranorm- Horror/ Character Drama
    Buried Below- Treasure Hunter Homage
    Spirits Sequels & Prequel(s)

Sorry OP, but gmail addresses such as yours trigger that same sentiment for me - something dodgy.
I also see little value in reviewing books already on bestseller lists, or classics as there are already plenty of alternative sources.

Acquired is not a synonym for received.

@Wild and @Paul - Do you have specific information that the offer is not legitimate?

I know that. I was asking whether they were accepting reviews for any possible novel, providing it works for them, and whether that was their monthly deal, or they were making enough money that they were permanently expanding.

I've done reviews before & I'm good at addressing pros & cons of the story itself without being biased, but I just don't like torturing people about their writing style, unless there's a serious problem.

We have already paid and published at least 10 writers since our start-up in September 2012. We are proud of what we are doing and hope to give other talented writers the opportunity to have their work read by our audience.

If a story goes a little above 2000 would it still be looked at?

Talking Very Good Site to Work For!

My second submission was just accepted and was told I would be paid upon uploading to the site - which I think is wonderful and fair!
Give 'em a chance - they're prompt and straightforward!

I will be sending them more reviews in the future as soon as I have more time to read and to write them as I am currently in a battle for my wits with a soon-to-be three year old!

I fear I may lose this round...

I just had my own review approved as well. It should be on the site in April. Now to propose more.

I was actually paid but they are yet to post my review, I keep on reminding them but they are not posting my review. Has anyone such a problem?
Obviously if they post my review I will post my link and I will get some review jobs .

My review is up now and I'm working on a second one for the website.

Very painless process and the editor is quick to respond to queries and I really can't complain that she paid before she published.
