I haven't crossed paths with Steve for a long while now, but I remember him well from when he was just starting out here. Really sorry to hear the news.

I hope his family find some peace. What a terrible time for them.

Ah, Steve was a sweet, brave and great guy who was dedicated to his art.

You'll be missed!

Oh, Steve. Hell. He and I kept up a correspondence for a while. I knew he was fighting a barrage of health issues. I'm so sorry to hear this.

I'm so shocked and saddened by this news.

I did not know he had been battling illness, but I went back and read some of his posts. I think it's quite something that he kept coming back to post even when he wasn't feeling well.

I'm glad there were so many AW'ers who got to know him through his posts and who offered their friendship and support.

He will be missed.

Oh, no.

He was such an incredibly warm human being. A real class act.

RIP Steve, and much condolences to your family.

I just discovered this thread and I'm stunned. I remember when he first joined AW and he and I chatted privately and in emails about his life and sobriety. He was a marvelous human being.

My condolences to his lovely wife and family. RIP, Steve.

:( I've been out of town and didn't see this when it was first posted. Since I saw it, I've tried to think of what to say, but all I can come up with is how sorry I am for his family. He was far too young to be the subject of this kind of post. :(

Ugh! I'm way behind online as usual and this news breaks my heart. Steve and I discovered a few commonalities several years ago including living near each other and being the same age. I truly regret that I never got to meet him in person - he was truly an awesome guy and I know he will be extremely missed. His family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings to them and to Steve as well.

I will miss him. He was a valued member who I enjoyed rubbing shoulders with. My condolences to the family who lost him.
