    [Display site] Foboko

As you know I've been trying to decide what to do with my manuscript. In my research I came across this site, Foboko.com. It looks like a fairly new model of ebook publishing/reading in a social community. Has anyone here checked it out yet? Thoughts?

It's new with few users and you can only give your books away and not sell them... I wouldn't rush to join. As is, it is basically a file-sharing site with all the problems associated with that.

It is new (still says Beta) and not many users but it looks like they do have a revenue model by placing ads in the ebooks themselves. Is anyone else doing this?

IMHO the best way to monetize books is by selling them.

It might be interesting for people who normally post their fiction for free, sometime down the road, but I have a feeling it's going to fizzles and disappear.

My agent recommends a presence on Goodreads, which (among other things) allows you to offer free copies of your work as part of a competition.

I think you mean giveaway, not competition.
