    [Publisher] Month9Books

I didn't find a thread for this publisher when I searched for it, so I'm starting a new one.

    Here's the link: http://www.month9books.com/

They're a new publisher, but they seem to have some big names on board.

They're very new but their founder, Georgia McBride, is definitely a well known name thanks to YALitChat. I know Brenda Drake (repped by Lauren Hammond at ADA) sold to them this year, but that's pretty much the extent of my knowledge.

Month9Books is doing well. They have Foreign rights and movie interest in some of their books. There books are being published in ebook first but then print for select titles. Not only that their books are distributed with IPG which is a well known and respected distribution company. In short Month9books would be a great small press to submit to. Go to Publishers Marketplace to find out more about them.

I already pitched, and was asked to submit, hence my question Then it's time for the waiting game.

Yup. They have a few well-known authors with stories in their first release (an anthology). Definitely a press worth watching.

Looks like they are opening a new imprint for novellas. I didn't seen a anything on the site but Brenda Drake's blog has a pitch contest coming up for it. It's for all ages it seems.

I might try to spruce up one I've been working on (wasn't planning on making it a novella, but it's short so I can probably make it work)

Hmmm....don't know how I missed this one. I pitched on their FB page, so we'll see what's up. My agent is so fricken bogged down at the moment, I didn't want to bother her with this one but I send her a heads up.

I'm glad to see so many small presses reviving the novella. It's a great length for ebooks.

    Novella Response Time

    Hello,

Anyone know their standard response time? I sent in a requested 12K novella on 10/3. I figured I'd give them 6 weeks before nudging. Do you guys think that's too soon to nudge?

Oh, btw, they are open to unagented novel submissions again. You can submit on their Facebook page.

Thanks Sage! Eight weeks it is. I also didn't know they had reopened for subs. Last I heard they were closed until March 2013, so that's good to know

Clicked on their website, but all I get is a black screen. Is my computer missing something?

It works fine for me, you may just need to wait longer for it to upload.

Has anyone subbed to their Swoon Romance line? They've only got two novellas out in that imprint and they're selling pretty well.

Does anyone know what the response time is for the Facebook submissions? Not the request for pages, but for the actual queries.

I had a response after a week...but this was for their romance line (Swoon Romance).

I never received an answer from their FB sub location. Don't know why. I can only try again.

ETA: I think I'll tip my agent off to this one. Would be better coming from her. I don't think a FB submission carries any weight at all. Just my gut feeling on it.

I believe that they only respond on FB if they're interested. If they requested from someone who posted later than you, you've probably been rejected.

They posted a call on FB for full-length novel NA and Adult queries for the Swoon line. I queried and received a request for the full within about 24 hours. Response to the full was a 2-4 week turnaround.

Can somebody furnish me with the correct FB link for submissions? I don't think I'm in the right place, since I don't see any previous subs on the page I've been visiting and asking questions.

    Thanks in advance,

    tri
