IYou know, in Ye Olde Tymes of Yore, people spent a lot more time closely observing nature and the behavior of animals in the wild than we do now. In the Middle Ages, the swan was a symbol of sexual promiscuity or permissiveness. Pictures of swans adorned the advertising signs of brothels. There was probably a good reason for that.
