I've written a picture book in which a frog sings a bunch of different music genres (blues, jazz, opera, rock & roll, and country). There's no music to go along with the lyrics, just the lyrics, but I'd like the lyrics to be fairly accurate in representing the music they depict. I admit I know next to nothing about writing or playing music, I did listen to a bunch of different music before writing the lyrics, but I don't think I've quite got the rhythms right.
Anyway, I've posted the story here: http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=243772
If you'd care to take a look at it and offer your opinions on the lyrics and how to improve them and make them more accurate for their genre (hopefully I'm using 'genre' correctly here?), I'd greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!
Rue
