Hello. My real name is Gary D. Henderson. I live in the Atlanta, GA area and work by day as a mild-mannered, humble code monkey in a number of languages for Big Healthcare™.
I write short stories, flash, novellas, and novelettes. In science fiction, fantasy, urban fantasy, horror, dark fiction, and anything else that strikes my fancy. I haven't submitted for publication, yet, but that is changing.
I am a member of three writing groups, because each one provides different expertise. One of them is online on Second Life. Ask me about The Quillians if you want to join in. We do neat things.
My current novel WIP is an urban fantasy (series) set in modern-day Atlanta, but magic works. There are no sexy vampires or sexy were-anythings. Just hard-working agents of a paranormal branch of the FBI trying to solve paranormal crimes in paranormal Atlanta. And there's paranormal.
I have a series of 26 short stories I wrote for NaNoWriMo last year, and I'm currently slogging my way through the edit/critique process with those. I finished up with about 122,000 words, and that has grown as I've edited. (Yes, I think I might be doing it wrong.) They range in genre from fairy tale to dystopian sci-fi to erotica to hard sci-fi to...bizarre things that just kinda came out of me as I wrote.
Anyway...hi. This is me poking my toe in the water to see how the temperature is.
