That does raise an important question.

What the hell was The Magic Roundabout all about?

    Drugs*

Wasn't it obvious? Why else would Dylan be smoking that big reefer, or Brian be whizzing around like he's on speed, or, of course, Mr Rusty refer to his 'trips'. Dougal and his sugar cubes (popular way to take LSD at the time, and he'd have one and then everything would get weird). Crap only knows what Ermintrude was on....but is that a poppy she's chewing?

*afaia a complete urban myth, but when you think about it....

So that explains The Magic Roundabout. What about Rainbow? A middle aged man lives with a gay hippo, a bi-curious bear and...Zippy. The hippo, the bear and Zippy all share a bed. The bear wears pyjamas in bed but is unclothed the rest of the time. Then there's the happy clappy threesome of Rod, Jane and Freddy.

All very suspect if you ask me.

And then there's Captain Pugwash, which apparently did not contain characters called 'Master Bates' and 'Seaman Stains', but that's not how I remember it.

    Sadly he was called Tom.

Not quite the same. And now I will be singing the damn theme tune all morning.

PS - you've seen the rainbow 'twangers' secret episode, right?

Also, recently George and zippy did...Top Gear...er...kinda. NSFW. Or anyone under 18. Or anyone at all easily offended....

Yes. And Jane had lovely maracas.

By the way, for anyone outside the UK and/or under certain age, this conversation does make sense. Honest.
