Baptist- Wet
Methodist- Dry

Why to both? I'm Baptist and have no clue what makes my denomination wet and what makes Methodism dry.

(In fact, as someone who's in it, I'd say Baptist is probably the "drier" of the two.)

A baptism reference or perhaps a regard of Methodism as more "high-church"?

I'm no expert, I just read Elmer Gantry earlier this year, so I find it fascinating.

I suppose.

I took "dry" to mean plain and simple. Like how I hear the same sermon every Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. It does make you beg for a more up-beat sermon.

I just figured he meant because Baptists dunk and Methodists usually just sprinkle.

I could be wrong though.

Iggy. Care to eloborate on the methodist part?

"Dry" has two meanings here: Dry, as in Methodists don't baptize via immersion, and Dry, as in when I grew up going to a Methodist church, they frowned upon drinking alcohol. As far as I know, that's still true!

Atheism - without.

As in; I've not found anything to believe in yet, and please do not confuse this with agnosticism, which I understand (though my understanding is limited so I can be seriously wrong here) is supposed to be an idea that has not yet been confirmed. My profound apologies if I've misunderstood.

Hmmm....

Odinism: Oath

Or maybe wyrd...or honour...or independence. I can't decide :D

Yes, I cheated.

If I really had to go for one, it would be oath though. I think.

Whereas I was thinking: Asatru: Responsibility

Atheism = freedom.

I mean free to make up one's own mind based on evidence, without being given a religion's already-chosen answer.
